We try to accommodate early check in requests. However, we can't guarantee early check-in due to the cleaning schedule.
Blue Heron Guests can park, 24 hours a day, in the alley spots that have parking signs for Lincoln Ave Courtyard or Red Cup Cafe. These spots face our building or the Red Cup Cafe building. Although signs say "Limited to 4 hours", Blue Heron guests can park here 24 hours a day.
There may be times that all these spots are taken with customers, however, there will always be overnight spots available.

For more information, see the Heating AC and Conform page.
For heat, there are 3 thermostats. One is in the kitchen at the top of the stairs. The other is in the bedroom. The bathroom has a heated floor with the thermostat on the wall as you walk in.
In warmer months, portable air conditioners will be installed. Please make sure the thermostats are turned all the way down so the AC doesn't turn on the heaters.
The two skylight windows in the kitchen can make the room heat up on sunny days. There is a pole by the washing machine to open/close the shades so you can let the light in when you want or allow the AC to cool the room when the sun is too bright.
The top section of the screen (main room and bedroom) can be lowered so that fresh air can come in. The shades on the doors to the patio can be opened and closed. When closing them, carefully clip them into place at the bottom of the window.
The windows above the bed and at the top of the stairs can be opened as well.
Trash and recycling dumpsters are in parking area/alley behind our building by the Red Cup cafe building.
The blue dumpster is for recycling and the green dumpster is for trash.
There is a metal compost pail next to the sink. The bags are under the sink. If you use this, please empty it at the end of your stay. The compost goes into the brown garbage can by the dumpsters behind the Red Cup Cafe.
Dishwasher pods are under the kitchen sink. To run the dishwasher, press Start to turn it on. Press Start again for the blue light to light up. Close the door and it will turn on.
Laundry is in the closet between kitchen and bedroom. These compact machines are energy efficient and may take a little longer than you are typically used to. The "normal wash" cycle is 1 hour 17 minutes and the "normal regular dry" cycle is 2 hours 25 minutes. Liquid detergent is on the washer. Laundry baskets are below machines.
Turn on the TV and press the Home button to browse available apps. You may log into your own app accounts (please log out of them before you leave). For LG Channels (similar to Pluto TV) press GUIDE.
To watch a DVD, turn on the DVD player and change the Input on the TV.
DVDs are available in the unit at the top of the stairs. There are also some games that you are welcome to use.
There are two alarm clocks with wireless charging pads (one on desk and one in bedroom on nightstand). There are also outlets with USB options in living room and bedroom.
The closet in the hallway closest to the bedroom has extra towels, including beach towels, washcloths, sheets and other things you may need.
The airbed is also in this closet. If you'd like to use it, you can plug it in and turn on the pump to inflate it. Please don't over inflate to prevent damage to the bed and/or pump.
If needed, you can find extra cleaning supplies, trash bags and soap under the kitchen sink.
